Óptica Carreras is a family business with a long history, defined from the very beginning by vocation, innovation and the constant pursuit of visual excellence.
Our origins
Antonio Carreras Pons entered the world of optics because of his own vision problems. He began by expanding his silverware shop with the optical advances of the time, until he devoted himself exclusively to optics, laying the foundations of what Óptica Carreras is today.
In 1937, after the untimely death of her husband during the Civil War, Ana Tudurí took over the business. Her ability to learn, adapt and innovate shaped the spirit that has always guided Óptica Carreras: evolving without losing the human touch.
In 1952, Benjamín Carreras Tudurí took over the management of the practice, consolidating it as a leading centre for optical advances in the Balearic Islands. He was the first to fit contact lenses in Menorca and the first to introduce the progressive lens on the island.
A practice in constant evolution
In 1994, Gracia Carreras joined the practice, which from its beginnings has pioneered the adoption of the latest optical and optometric advances.
From 2005, Gracia Carreras took over its management, driving the introduction of vision therapy, myopia control, Ortho-K, scleral lenses and new examination techniques, with an increasingly specialised, personalised clinical approach.
