Óptica Carreras opened its doors in Maó (Menorca) in 1928 with one clear goal: to improve its patients' visual health. Since then, across three generations, the Carreras family (Antonio Carreras, Ana Tudurí, Benjamín Carreras, Gracia Carreras) has looked after its customers with closeness, dedication and a deep passion for vision.

Over the years the practice has kept evolving, with every professional in continuous training, bringing to Menorca the latest technology in optometry, myopia control, equipment, lenses, contact lenses and vision therapy.

In 2005, Gracia Carreras took over the family practice. A qualified optometrist, she combines inherited experience with a modern approach to eye health based on prevention, comfort and long-term visual wellbeing. Her commitment to continuous training and her passion for technology reflect a way of understanding optics in which seeing well is an essential part of quality of life.

What types of contact lenses do you fit? Can I wear contacts if I have a complex problem?

Yes. We specialise in fitting personalised contact lenses: Ortho-K, scleral, RGP, multifocal, keratoconus lenses and other special cases. If you've been told you can't wear contact lenses, ask us — we can probably help.

What is vision therapy and how do I know if I need it?

Vision therapy is a personalised treatment that improves the coordination, focusing ability and efficiency of the visual system. It helps in cases of double vision, reading difficulties, poor school performance or problems after an accident. If you notice eye strain, blurred vision or headaches, or if your child struggles with reading, you could benefit from this service.

What is low vision and how can Óptica Carreras help me?

Low vision is a condition in which, even with glasses or contact lenses, eyesight remains limited. At Óptica Carreras we help you make the most of your remaining vision through special optical aids, visual training and advice tailored to your needs.

What guarantee do you offer if I don't adapt to new glasses, especially varifocals?

If you don't adapt to your glasses, we review your case again at no extra cost and cover the cost of any changes needed. Our commitment is that you see well and are happy with your vision.

Do I need an appointment for an eye test, or can I just walk in?
